Happy Women’s day and Mother’s day!
As we celebrate International Women’s Day and Mother’s Day there is a git from b-Well Pilates to all that lovely people who keep supporting this local business.
Join me on Sunday the 14/3 at 9 am for a ‘Mellow Movements’ class!
Have you ever even heard of that? If not, this is your chance to experience the benefits of using balls, spiky balls and foam rollers to release soft tissue and tight muscles.
It’s really called myofascial release and your local physiotherapist will be very familiar with it and more than likely encourage you to use it.
Who needs it?
Pretty much all of us! Whether you spend your day sitting at the desk or are back running or walking you’ll find these gentle mobilisation really helpful. Self-Soft tissue massage (like the one you get from the balls, roller) can help with injury prevention, balance, and along with stretches are a really a ‘must have’, whatever sport you are into. But the benefits are extensive everyone as it’s used in pilates women’s health classes in the postnatal phase, third age and many other groups.
Benefits from self-fascia release:
You can do it yourself (It’s free! and available anytime)
Improves range of motion
Helps manage chronic pain
Improves tissue recovery
Release general tension and tightness on muscles
Contributes to pelvic health
Valuable self-tool in women’s health
Great companion for Pilates Reformer, Barre and general Pilates and Yoga classes
The list could go on and on but you really need to try it to love it!
On Sunday you’ll need
2 blankets
a big towel or a foam roller
2 tennis balls or dog balls (you can also use spiky balls if you are used to them)
a mat
a pillow or cushion
This beautiful practice will include some gentle stretches and a final relaxation.
